CHAIRWOMAN JACOB TO PROTEST LATEST PLAN TO HOUSE A SEXUALLY VIOLENT PREDATOR IN CAMPO
WHAT: A Superior Court judge will consider a state proposal to house yet another sexually violent predator in an East County community. Supervisor Dianne Jacob, chairwoman of the county Board of Supervisors, will attend the hearing to protest the placement of convicted child molester Allen Fields in Campo. While Fields has been surgically castrated, Jacob and others say the pedophile should be kept behind bars due to a string of heinous crimes that involved several young boys. His victims ranged from 10- to 13-years-old.
(NOTE: Supervisor Jacob will be available for courthouse interviews.)
WHEN: Wednesday, July 23, 9 a.m.
WHERE: San Diego County Superior Court (Dept. 35), 220 W. Broadway, San Diego
WHO: Supervisor Dianne Jacob
WHY: The Supervisor and many residents say allowing sexually violent predators to live in the community endangers public safety. Six predators have been placed in the rural East County area in recent years. At least three later violated the terms of their release.
