Food Service Specialist

Hours Full Time (12 month on a continuing basis)


Description The U.S. Army Cadet Corps, Inc. is inviting applications for Fo
od Service Specialist, starting June 2013. The food service specialist is primar
ily responsible for the preparation and service of food in garrison food service
operations. Secondary responsibilities include support of "Canteen" hour in the
evening and field food service operations during battalion field exercises. Min
imum job duties include: (a) baking, frying, braising, boiling, simmering, steam
ing and sauting as prescribed by garrison recipes, (b) operating, maintain and cl
eaning field kitchen equipment. The Gamble Hall garrison dining facility holds 1
50 seats and can serve 500 meals per hour. Tables seat four people each in indiv
idual chairs. The facility has a cafeteria serving line with condiment/salad/des
ert bar and beverage self-serving areas. The upgraded facility, with its full ki
tchen, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, cooking and preparation areas, and di
shwashing area rank high in annual inspections.
Minimum Requirements Successful applicants will have the following minimum qu
alifications and/or experience:
Experience with standard and dietetic menus and recipes
Experience with preparation and cooking of various foodstuffs and bakery product
s
Experience with food and supply ordering
Experience with storage of meats, poultry and other perishable items
Strong communications skills
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work independently
Preference will be given to individuals with military experience as Food Service
Specialist (Army 92G)
Willingness to adhere to the U.S. Army Cadet Corps mission statement and wear an
d appearance standards
