Topic/Title of Lesson: Sorting Buttons Focused Domain: Cognitive
Age Group: Kindergarten

Goal: Introduce the children to patterns

Objective: The children will sort the buttons according to the amount of holes
in each button.

Procedure: The children will sort the buttons by the amount of holes in each
button, have them put them in the correct cup.

Advanced Preparation: Cups wrap around with colorful paper and a picture of
a button with two holes, three holes and four holes

List Materials: - cups, buttons with different holes, colored paper, glue and tape


Developmental Benefits: Social, physical (fine motor), language,
and emotional

Future Plans: Children can count the buttons in each cup.
