Topic/Title of Lesson: Fun Market Focused Domain: Cognitive Age Group: Primary Grades
Goal: Teach the children money combination
Objective: Children will practice money combination by purchasing items in the market. Children will learn the combination of using different coins to end with the same amount.
Procedure: Reinforce the value of the coin, penny = .01, nickel = .05, dime = .10 and quarter = .25. Tell the children that the divided tray with the coins is their money to purchase the items. Introduce the items in the market that they will be able to purchase and how much each item cost. Ask each child to purchase an item and have the student pay with a combination of coins
Advanced Preparation: A section or divided tray, cards with amounts of each item, handmade coins, merchandise to purchase, cards with coin values
