Instructions for maintenance and sterilization of instruments made of aluminium with anodized
surfaces. Containers have to be cleaned and dried carefully after use.

Do not use cleaning or disinfection agents with acid or alkaline additions (e.g. soda, soda lye or
acids)! The most delicate method for mechanical processing of containers, especially for color
anodized containers, is treatment with fully desalted water or mild pH neutral cleaning liquids.

CONTAINERS SHOULD BE STERILIZED WITH STEAM ONLY!

Sterilization: steam autoclave, temperature = 121° to 123° C, pressure = 1-1,2 bar (15-17 psi), for
at least 30 minutes in packed condition. If the temperature can be increased to 131 to 133 °C at
1-1,2 bar (15-17 psi) sterilization time is reduced to approx. 20 minutes. Autoclave with backing
pressure: during the backing pressure procedure the air is evacuated from the chamber before
steam is let in. Standard sterilization time for packed items: 132° to 135°C at 27 to 30 psi 2-3 bar
(27-30 psi), 4 to 10 minutes maximum.

IMPORTANT REMARKS!

Check the function of all components of the container before use or sterilization, i.e. especially
locks, seals and filter holding devices. If one of these components is damaged the corresponding
container must not be used until the damaged parts have been replaced. Do not use any recep-
tacles (containers) for sterilization if there is no tight connection between bottom and lid.

For containers with filters :

1. Choose the filter size according to the dimensions of the container and make sure that it can
be placed tightly into the corresponding filter holding devices. The border of the filter should
always sit close to the frame of the corresponding filter holding device.

2. Do not use damaged or deformed filter holding sheets.

3. Make sure that the filter covers all perforations usually provided for fixation of the filter hol-
ding devices.

4. Do not use the container before complete cool down.
