Science Fair Project for Advanced Classes Only

All students in advanced classes are required to complete a Science Fair Project.
The emphasis of the 7
th
grade science fair project is not experimentation but topic
background research and the writing of a research paper. The projects
requirements and guidelines are totally different from previous projects. Please
have your student adhere to the guidelines in the science fair workbook which they
will receive the second week of class. The completed project is due no later than
J anuary 9, 2015.

Three projects will be selected from each science advanced class to compete at the
school level. Each submitted project will be judged by volunteer community
judges. The top projects will then be forwarded to the County Science Fair to
participate in the competition held in February.

Supplies needed for the Science Fair Project;

A composition book or spiral notebook.
A 1 inch three ring binder with three tab dividers.
A three sided display board, any color.

It is highly recommended that students save their work on a flash drive so they are
able to work both at home and at school on the project. This will also enable them
print their work at school if a printer is not available at home.

The science department will have backboards for sale at school for $5.00. In
addition, a package with all the science fair supplies (except for the notebook) will
be available for purchase for $12.00. Detailed information will be provided to
students during class time.
