1. Alif Lam Mim Ra.

ْت ا
ُ َ
َ ِْ
These are the Signs (or Verses) of the Book:
َْ ا
َ ﻡِ ر
َ َْي أُ" ِ! َل ِإ
َ %ِ َوا
that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the Truth;

َ 'ُ(ِس َ* ُ)ْﻡ
ِ (َ َ ا,ْ َأآ
ِ
َوَـ
but most men believe not.
َ ََ<ْ= وَا
َ ْ>ش َوﺱَ? َ ا
ِ َْBْ اCََ5 اﺱْ َ'َىE ُﺙ
is firmly established on the Throne (of Authority);
He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law)!

َ 'ُ(ِM'ُ ْEُ
ِِ<َء َرEُ
َBَ ت
ِ َO اHُ PَQُ َ ْﻡKَ ُ ا4َ ُ
He doth regulate affairs, explaining the Signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the
meeting with your Lord.
َرًا2ْ" َوَأT
َ َِ َروَاﺱ2ِ9 Hَ َBَJض َو
َ ْرKَ ا4 َِي ﻡ%َوهُ َ' ا
3. And it is He Who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and (flowing)
rivers:
ِ َْ(ْ اﺙ
ِ َْJَْ َزو2ِ9 Hَ َBَJ ت
ِ ََا, اH َُوﻡِ آ
and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two:

ُوQَ َ ت <َ'ْ ٍم
ٍ َYَ
َ ِ َذTِ9 ن
ِإ
Behold, verily in these things there are Signs for those who consider!
Hِ ُآKُ اTِ9 c
ٍ ْBَ Cََ5 َ2َ^ْBَ
yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat.

َ 'ُِ<ْBَ ت <َ'ْ ٍم
ٍ َYَ
َ ِ َذTِ9 ن
ِإ
Behold, verily in these things there are Signs for those who understand!
4ٍ ِ4َJ
ٍ َْ ﺥTِQَ (ِfَا آُ( َُاً َأ%ِfْ َأEُ2ُْ'َM ٌgَLَBَ9 ْgَLْBَ َوإِن
5. If thou dost marvel (at their want of faith), strange is their saying:
"When we are (actually) dust, shall we indeed then be in a creation renewed?"
ْEِ2َ ِ َُْواQَ آ
َ ِ% ا
َ ِhُأوَْـ
They are those who deny their Lord!

َ و4ََِ ﺥ2ِ9 ْEُب ا( ِر ه
ُ َْ َأﺹ
َ ِhَوُأوَْـ
they will be Companions of the Fire, who dwell therein (for aye)!
ت
ُ i
َ ُ,َْ اEُ ِ2ِْkَM ِْ ﻡlََْ ﺥ4َM َوmِ َ(َ7َْ اHَ ْkَM mِ َh7ِ
َ َ"'ُِLْBَ ْ7ََو
6. They ask thee to hasten on the evil in preference to the good: yet have come to pass, before
them, (many) exemplary punishments!

ِ َ<ِBْ ا4ُ ِ4َ>َ
َ ن َر
َوِإ
and verily thy Lord is (also) strict in punishment.

:ِ ٌ ﻡ رmَ :ِ ََْ5 أُ" ِ! َلOْ'َ َُْواQََِ آ%َوَ<ُ' ُل ا
7. And the Unbelievers say!
"Why is not a Sign sent down to him from his Lord?"
:ُ َ ﻡَ َ دi
َ َ9 ِ<َ'ْ ٍم ﺱُ'ءًا:ُ َّوِإذَا َأرَا َد ا
But when (once) Allah willeth a people's punishment, there can be no turning it back,
َْْ َ' ُة ا5 َد:ُ َ
14. For Him (alone) is prayer in Truth:
:ِ ِ6َِkِ 'َ ُ َوﻡَ هsُ َ9 ~َ ُْkَِ اَْءCَ ِإ:ِ ْQََﺱِِ آkَِإ * آ
if they were to stretch forth their hands for water to reach their mouth but it reaches them not:

َ َ ﺽTِ9 * ِإ
َ ِِ9َ
َْء ا5َوﻡَ ُد
for the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile) wandering (in the mind).
ض
ِ ْرKَ ت وَا
ِ َوَا7ب ا
ْ ﻡَ رHُM
16. Say: "Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth?"
:ُ ّ اHِ ُM
Say: "It is Allah."
ت وَا(' ُر
ُ َُyْ َ'ِي ا7َ ْHََأمْ ه
Or the depths of darkness equal with Light?"

ْEِ2ََْ5
ُ َْ?ْ ا:َ ََ>َ َ9 :ِ ِ<َْ?َ ﺵُ َآَء ﺥََ<ُ'اْ آ:ِ ِّ َُْ'اBَJ ْأَم
Or do they assign to Allah partners who have created (anything) as He has created, so that the
creation seemed to them similar?
1١٦/ ُر2َ<ْ ا4ُ ِْ ٍء َوهُ َ' اْ'َاﺡTَ ﺵH ُ آ
ُ َِ ﺥ:ُ ّ اHِ ُM
Say:
"Allah is the Creator of all things:
He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible."
Hَ ِ{َkْ وَا
َْ ا:ُ ّب ا
ُ ِ ْ^َ
َ ِ%َ َآ
Thus doth Allah (by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity:

ِ ْرKَ اTِ9
ُ ُ
ََْ9 س
َ ( ا8ُ َQ(َ ََء َوَأﻡ ﻡQُJ g
ُ َْه%ََ9 4ُ َ! َﻡ اzَ9
for the scum disappears like froth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains
on the earth.
ًBَِJ ض
ِ ْرKَ اTِ9 ﻡEُ2َ ن
َ'ْ َأ:ُ َ ُْ'اkِLَ ْ7َ ْEَ
َ ِ%وَا
But those who respond not to Him -- even if they had all that is in the heavens and on earth,

Cَْ5 آََْ هُ َ' َأ
َْ ا
َ ﻡِ َر
َ َْ َأ"َ أُ"!ِ َل ِإEُ َْBَ ََ9َأ
19. Is then one who doth know that that which hath been revealed unto these from thy Lord is the
Truth, like one who is blind?
1ِ ١٩/ ب
ِ َkْKَ آ ُ ُأوُْ'اْ ا%َ َ َ َ"ِإ
It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition --
1٢٠/ ق
َ َ,ِْن ا
َ 'ُ^ُ<(ِ *َ َو:ِ ّ ا4ِ ْ2َBِ ن
َ 'ُ9'ُ
َ ِ%ا
20. Those who fulfil the Covenant of Allah and fail not in their plighted word;
1٢١/ ب
ِ َ7ِن ﺱُ' َء ا
َ 'ُ9َ?َْ َوEُ2ن َر
َ ْ'َ>ْ?ََو
hold their Lord in awe, and fear the terrible reckoning;
mً َِ"i
َ َ5ا َوIِْ ﺱEُْ(َهMَ<ُ'اْ ﻡِ َر َزQ"َ َة َوأi
َ Pَﻡُ'اْ اMَوَأ
establish regular prayers;
spend, out of (the gifts) We have bestowed for their sustenance, secretly and openly;

ٍ َ H ُ ﻡ آEِ2ََْ5 ن
َ 'ُُْﺥ4َ mُ َ
ِfi
َ َوَا
and angels shall enter unto them from every gate (with the salutation):

ِ ْرKَ اTِ9 ن
َ ُو4ِ7ْQُ َوHَ َ أَن ُ'ﺹ:ِ ِ :ُ ّ َأﻡََ اYَن ﻡ
َ 'ُBَ]ْ<ََو
and cut asunder those things which Allah has commanded to be joined,
and work mischief in the land --
1٢٧/ ب
َ َ" ﻡَْ َأ:ِ َِْي ِإ4ْ2َ ﻡَ َ>َء َوH ِ^ُ َ:ّن ا
ْ ِإHُM
Say:
"Truly Allah leaveth, to stray, whom He will;
but He guideth to Himself those who turn to Him in penitence --
1ِ ٢٨/ ب
ُ 'ُُ<ْ ا
ِhَْ]َ :ِ ّآْ ِ ا%ِ ِ *َ َأ
for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.

ٍ Yَ ﻡ
ُ ْ7ُْ َوﺡEُ2َ Cَ'ُ{ ت
ِ َِPَُِ'اْ ا5 ﻡَ(ُ'اْ َو
َ ِ%ا
29. "For those who believe and work righteousness, is (every) blessedness, and a beautiful place
of (final) return."
ِ ن ِ ﺡَْـ
َ ُُوQْ
َ ْEُ َوه
َ َْي َأوْﺡَْ(َ ِإ
َ %ِ اEُ ِ2ََْ5 'َ ُْ َ
in order that thou mightest rehearse unto them what We send down unto thee by inspiration;
yet do they reject (Him), the Most Gracious!

'َ ُ ِإ * ه:َ * ِإَـTْ هُ َ' َرHُM
Say:
"He is my Lord!
There is no god but He!
1٣٠/ ب
ِ َ َ ﻡ:ِ َْ َوِإl
ُ ْ َ َ'آ:ِ ََْ5
On Him is my trust,
and to Him do I turn!"
ض
ُ ْرKَ ا:ِ ِ ْlَB]ُM َْ ُل َأوkِLْ ا:ِ ِ ُْْ"ً ﺱُ َتM ن
َوَ'ْ َأ
31. If there were a Qur'án with which mountains were moved,
or the earth were cloven asunder,
ًBَِJ س
َ (َى ا4َ2َ :ُ ّ ﻡَ(ُ'اْ أَن 'ْ َ>َء ا
َ ِ%س ا
ِ َzَْ ْEََ9َأ
Do not the Believers know, that, had Allah (so) willed, He could have guided all mankind (to
the Right)?
َ ِْkَM ﻡHٍ ُْ!ِى َء ِ ُﺱ2ُ ْ اﺱ4ِ َ<ََو
32. Mocked were (many) Messengers before thee:

ِ َ<ِ5 ن
َ َ آw
َ َْ
َ9
then how (terrible) was My requital!
ْlَkَ7َ= َِ آ
ٍ ْQَ" H ُ آCََ5 ٌEِfYَM 'َ ََُْ ه9َأ
33. Is then He Who standeth over every soul (and knoweth) all that it doth, (like any others)?

ْEُْ ﺱَ'هHُM ﺵُ َآَء:ِ ِّ َُْ'اBَJَو
And yet they ascribe partners to Allah. Say: "But name them!
اْ<َ'ْ ِل
َ َهِ ٍ ﻡyِ ض أَم
ِ ْرKَ اTِ9 Eُ َْBَ َ* َِ :ُ َ"'ُhkَ(ُ َْأم
Is it that ye will inform Him of something He knoweth not on earth,
or is it (just) a show of words?"
Hِ ِk7 ا
ِ َ5 ْوا4ُْ َوﺹEَُُواْ ﻡَ
ْ ُهQَ آ
َ ِ%ِ
َ ْ ُزHَ
Nay! to those who believe not, their pretence seems pleasing, but they are kept back (thereby)
from the Path:
َﺥِ َ ِة َأﺵOب ا
ُ َا%َBَ"َْ َو4 اََْ ِة اTِ9 ٌَاب%َ5 ْEُ2
34. For them is a Penalty in the life of this world, but harder, truly, is the Penalty of the Hereafter;

ٍ ﻡِ وَا:ِ ّ ا
َ ﻡEُ2َ ََوﻡ
and defender have they none against Allah.
ن
َ 'ُ< ُْ ا4َ ِ5 ُوTِ اmِ (َLْ اHُ َ,ﻡ
35. The parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised! --
ْ ا<َ'ا
َ ِ% اCَkْ<ُ5
َ ِْ
such is the End of the Righteous;
َ َْن َِ أُ" ِ! َل ِإ
َ 'ُْ َﺡQَ ب
َ َ ِ
ْ اEُ ُ َْ(َه
َ ِ%وَا
36. Those to whom We have given the Book rejoice at what hath been revealed unto thee:
:ُ َ^ْBَ ُ ِ
(ُ َب ﻡ
ِ ﺡْ!َاKَ ا
َ َِوﻡ
but there are among the clans those who reject a part thereof.

:ِ ِ ك
َ ِ ْ وَ* ُأﺵ:َ ّ ا4َ ُkْ5ت َأنْ َأ
ُ ِْْ ِإ"َ ُأﻡHُM
Say:
"I am commanded to worship Allah, and not to join partners with Him.
1٣٦/ ب
ِ Yَ ﻡ:ِ َُْ' َوِإ5ْ َأد:ِ َِْإ
Unto Him do I call,
and unto Him is my return."
Iَِ َ5 ًْ
ُ ﺡsُ َ(ْ!َ "َ أ
َ ِ%َ ََوآ
37. Thus have We revealed it to be a judgment of authority in Arabic.
Eِ ِْBْ ا
َ ِك ﻡ
َ َءJ َ ﻡ4َ ْBَ Eُ َأهْ'َاءهl
َ ْBَk ا
ِ ِhََو
Wert thou to follow their (vain) desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee,
1٣٧/ ق
ٍ َو َ* وَاT
ِ ﻡِ َو:ِ ّ ا
َ ِ ﻡ
َ َ َﻡ
then wouldst thou find neither protector nor defender against Allah.
:ِ ّن ا
ِ ْ ِإ * ِ ِ
ذmٍ َYِ T
َ ِْzَ ن ِ َﺱُ' ٍل أَن
َ ََوﻡَ آ
and it was never the part of a Messenger to bring a Sign except as Allah permitted (or
commanded).
1٣٩/ ب
ِ َ ِ
ْ ُأ م اsُ 4َ (ِ5 َوl
ُ ِkْ,ُ ﻡَ َ>َء َو:ُ َُّْ' ا
39. Allah doth blot out or confirm what He pleaseth: with Him is the Mother of the Book.
َ (َ9'َ َ َ" ْْ َأوEُه4ُ ِBَ" ِي% اc
َ ْBَ
َ (َِ ُ" َوإِن ﻡ
40. Whether We shall show thee (within thy lifetime) part of what We promised them or take to
Ourselves thy soul (before it is all accomplished),

ُ َ7ََِْْ(َ ا5غ َو
ُi
َ َkْ ا
َ ََْ5 َ"
ِ َ9
thy duty is to (make the Message) reach them:
it is Our part to call them to account.
:ِ ِْ
ُِ g
َ <َBُ َ* ﻡEُ ُ
َْ :ُ ّوَا
(Where) Allah commands, there is none to put back His command:

1٤١/ ب
ِ َ7ِْ ا8ُ ََِوهُ َ' ﺱ
and He is swift in calling to account.
ًBَِJ ُ ْ
َْ ا:ِ َِّ9 ْEِ2ِْkَM ِ ﻡ
َ ِ%ْ ﻡَ
َ َ ا4َMَو
42. Those before them did (also) devise plots;
but in all things the master planning is Allah's.

ُ ِ7ْ
َ َ ﻡEُ َْBَ
He knoweth the doings of every soul:

ً َ ﻡُْﺱl
َ ْ7َ َُْواQَ آ
َ ِ%َوَ<ُ' ُل ا
43. The Unbelievers say: "No Messenger art thou."
1٤٣/ ب
ِ َ ِ
ْ اEُ ِْ5 sُ 4َ (ِ5 َْْ َوﻡEُ
َ(َْ َوTِ(َْ ًا4ِ2َ ﺵ:ِ ِّ CَQَْ آHُM
Say:
"Enough for a witness between me and you is Allah, and such as have knowledge of the
Book."
