THE DANGER OF BEING

ALBINO IN AFRICA
Albinism is the abscence of pigmentation
in the skin, eyes and hair in humans, as a
result of inherited genetic condition.
It affects all races, also occurs in animals
and until in plants by the absence of
carotenoids and melanin.
It is hereditary, then appears with the
combination of both parents carry the
recessive gene.

How is produced the albinism?
Melanocytes transform the amino acid
tyrosine to the substance called melanin.
Melanin is distributed throughout the
body, giving color and protection to the
skin, hair and iris of the eye.
When the body is unable to produce or
distribute this substence occurs the
hypopigmentation, known as albinism.
People with albinism can be limited in
their activities because they cant tolerate
the sun.
These people dont live long time
because they suffer from lung illness and
bleeding problems.
