Wikipedia Satanism

The Wikipedia Satanism article is heavily biased by LaVeyan Satanism. While it

differentiates between atheistic and theistic Satanism, it is restricted in its analysis;
in part this is due to the secretive nature of many Satanic groups and orders,
meaning their are few suitable references to prove the existence of such Satanic
groups.

The Satanism entry on Wikipedia only outlines the following groups:

• The Church of Satan

• First Satanic Church
• Order of Nine Angles
• Temple of Set

What is Satanism?

Satanism is difficult to define. Broadly, the shared artifact of Satanism is a belief in a

nebulous and varied concept of Satan. Satan is variously defined as an archetype, a
real being/entity, or a concept representing various beliefs or desires. To some,
Satan is accuser. To others, he is the embodiment of rebellion and opposition. As
with a belief in God, Satan partially takes on the image of the individual Satanist,
acting as a dark mirror that reflects the dark, unconscious, latent energies within the
human psyche.

Satanism Beliefs

There are no constant, immutable beliefs that define Satanism. The closest to a
common belief would be self-identification with the term Satanism / Satanist, much
in the same way many people in modern times identify with being a Christian, yet
seldom attended Church, nor perform any specific Christian activities. The case is
similar with Wicca, where simply proclaiming oneself a Wiccan makes it so.

However, there is a great of opportunity for those interested in Satanism to explore

a wide range of beliefs, ideas, and concepts that enable a confrontation with the
status quo. In the late 20th Century, the Collegium Satanas, the teaching division of
the Order of the Left Hand Path, offered correspondence courses in Satanism, giving
students the opportunity to learn various basics of the Order's concept of Satanism.

In 2009, the Collegium Satanas website was established and the Neophyte and
Adept courses, along with the Ordo Sinistra Vivendi entrance examination, were put
