Welcome!
On behalf of the Sylvan Avenue PTA, we hope you had a fun and restful
summer and we welcome you to the 2014-2015 school year!
The PTA is comprised of parents, teachers and our schools principal, all
working together to enhance our childrens educational, social and emotional
development. The PTA hosts a wide range of activities throughout the school
year. We invite our new and returning families to attend our monthly PTA
meetings to learn more about the workings of the PTA and the educational
and fun-filled events that the PTA proudly sponsors.

As always, we will kick off the school year with our
Annual Membership Drive!
Please consider joining the PTA this year.
Its a great way to support your child and their school!
Individual memberships $10 Family memberships (two voting members) $14
Note: Becoming a member does not mean you are obligated to volunteer!
Fill out your Membership Form
and send it in the first week of school!

The first PTA Meeting of the 2014-15

Monday, September 22 at 7 p.m.
in the Sylvan Avenue Cafeteria

***Important Notice to our current voting members***
We will be voting to adopt our revised Bylaws and Budget
at our first meeting of the year!

The Sylvan Avenue PTA has many committees
that need volunteers. Please consider donating
your time for an event or activity. We welcome
any time you can giveeven an hour makes a
big difference! We would LOVE to have you as
part of the team!

We know youre busy, but every little bit helps!
So we've come up with some quick and easy
ways you can make a difference!

1) Become a MEMBER-Join the Sylvan Avenue PTA!

2) Register your Stop n Shop and/or Pathmark Card,
our PTA gets a percent of your purchases.

3) Clip Labels for Education and Box Tops. Drop
them off in the main lobby or send in with your
child.

5) Link your Target Card to Sylvan Avenue Target
donates 1% of all Target purchases using

Your involvement in your childs education is an
important part of his/her success. You can help your
child make the most out of school. Below are some
ideas to get you started:

Talk with your child about the importance of education.
Provide your child with appropriate school supplies.
Keep appropriate reading materials handy.
Provide your child with a well balanced breakfast.
Be sure your child gets to school on time every day.
Show an interest in what your child is learning.
Show them you are proud! Post schoolwork on the
refrigerator or other visible areas in your home.
Attend school events.
