following 2 questions.

Problems 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.6, 3.7, 3.9, 3.10, 3.11 (from textbook)

9. A first-order degradation reaction is 40 percent complete at the end of 50 minutes.
a. What is the value of the rate constant in sec
-1
?
b. In how many minutes will this reaction be 80 percent complete?
c. What would be the rate constant in moles/(L.sec), if the degradation reaction was
zero-order and 40% of the initial 1 M concentration of compound A was degraded in
50 minutes?

10. A hazardous chemical reacts as a first-order. It is found in an experimental analysis
that the concentration of this hazardous chemical at the end of one hour is 480 g
and at the end of 3 hours is 180 g. Determine the initial concentration of the
chemical.
