LETTERS/COLORS I DEE CUNNIFFE This is not a book. Not heroes like this Or even superheroes. No this is a story about real heroes. Or mythical heroes This is a comic. Comics are about heroes. You see Sometimes you dont know who they are. Sometimes you have to wait for them to show themselves. You may not believe it But even Dublin has heroes. Spare change? Ignore him... turn out to be villains. the people you think can be your hero You know, the funny thing about heroes is They have secret identities. And sometimes Spare change? Cop on Ill give ya nothing! If youre that stuck for money HERE! You want him back PLEASE GiVE HiM BACK! Spare change Mister? GO GET HiM! Ha ha ha! Ill buy your rabbit ofF ya! You never know who they are When you need them you dont care who they are They just reveal themselves when you need them most. See, heroes can be anywhere, ready to save you. Youll be happy to know we got the scumbag. Youre a brave man! Youre okay Barney youre okay. I got you Barney youre ok ME RABBIT! IM COMING! theyll save you. END all you know is Apologies. For what, you say? Well, as Im sure you are now aware, We Can Be Heroes packs a pretty profound message. Its a message that every one of us needs to learn and re-learn every now and again, in order to put a little perspective into our lives. Its a message I felt the need to share. Its a message thats sat in development limbo for almost 2 years. As I said, apologies. This is not a message that should have sat in a folder on my macbook until Barry & Dee resurrected it and gave it life. There are people out there who could have benetted from you reading this message. To them I offer a sincere apology. The story you have just read is a true story. These events actually took place in my hometown of Dublin, Ireland. This story is about helping those who need it. But its not a story. Its an example. Its one we should all follow, one we all should aspire to emulate. Homelessness is a very real problem. Its something that needs heroes. You can be that hero. You dont need Supermans cape. You havent got Wolverines claws. But look inside yourself and think, can you be a hero to someone? To be a hero, visit: SIMON.IE or PMVTRUST.IE or just give a cup of coffee, some change, or your ear.
