Waghbil is a beautiful village located at Ghodbunder Road which is 8 km away from thane railway
station. Earlier It used to take long time to reach at Waghbil village from thane railway station, but
now connectivity is extremely good.
Natural sceneries are major attraction of this village. There is a God Hanumanas temple at the
entrance of the village and there are seven to eight temples which includes Mahadu aai, Mari aai,
Vithhal Rakhumai and Nagoba temple. There is god gifted port called Nagoba Reti Bandar which is
used for sand mining.
Major occupations were agriculture and Sand Supply, but now many people are engaged in different
kinds of businesses. Literacy level is increasing at very high speed. There is majority of aagari
community in village. All the Hindu festivals like Holi, Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Gudi Padwa, Nav
Ratri etc are celebrated enthusiastically. Though the standard of living of villagers have increased,
they have not forgotten their cultural values.
There is grand celebration of Aagari Wedding & Haldi in villages. There is a primary school (1st to 7th
standard) of Thane Municipal Corporation. Waghbil Villagers are very cooperative and support one
another during adverse conditions.
