Dolls for Daughters to Hold Two Major Fundraisers on July 17 and 18
Proceeds Will Benefit Annual Toy Shop and Family Assistance Programs

DENVER, July 8, 2014 Two large events are being held next week to raise money for Dolls for Daughters and
Kenzis Kidz programs, which provide toys and gifts for thousands of Colorado children living in poverty as well
as financial assistance for low-income families.

Starting in August, Kenzis Kidz plans to support five families, and at the Annual Toy Shop on Dec. 6, the goal for
Dolls for Daughters is to serve 5,000 children. Last year, more than 3,100 children received new toys and other
gifts. In hopes of keeping the momentum going and surpassing last years numbers, their annual auction dinner
will take place Thursday, July 17, and the annual golf invitational will commence Friday, July 18.

Im looking forward to sharing the impact last year's event had on the families we served in 2013 and how we
are changing lives one child at a time, says Jessica Bachus, founder of Dolls for Daughters. Each year Im able
to meet and connect with new people who want to learn more about our mission and the difference we are
making. Individual donors and small businesses are the backbone of our organization.

About Jessica Bachus and Dolls for Daughters
Twenty weeks into pregnancy with her second daughter, Jessica Bachus learned that not only would her
daughter Kenzi be born without her lower arm, but there would also be additional complications. After working
with the best prenatal doctors they could find and weeks of appointments and diagnoses, Jessica had utmost
hope that her daughter was going to make it. But on January 23, 2007, Kenzi was stillborn at 24 weeks.

Grief-stricken, guilt-ridden and desiring a way to channel her pain into something that would allow her
daughter's spirit to live on, Jessica founded Dolls for Daughters. This nonprofit was formed so that dolls could be
given to young girls during the holidays that would otherwise go without. It has since grown every year and in
2009, Dolls for Daughters and Kenzi's Kidz (a program that helps relieve financial burdens for low-income
families) became a 501(c)(3) organization.

In 2013, they provided assistance to more children than ever before. Statewide, toys were provided to more
than 4,200 children: their annual toy shop provided assistance to 3,150 children (21,337 toys, stocking stuffers
and more), and the other 1,050 children were served through nonprofit partnerships. To this day, Jessicas
efforts have impacted more than 15,000 children in Colorado and counting.

About Kenzis Kidz
Kenzis Kidz relieves some of the financial burdens of low-income families proactively taking the necessary steps
to create a stable environment for their children. This yearlong program gives each child the fundamental items
needed to succeed in school, such as school supplies, clothing, extracurricular activity support, and gifts for
holidays and birthdays. Families are selected from Warren Village, Joshua Station, Hope House of Colorado,
Rocky Mountain Communities and Crossroads Safehouse. Since 2010, ten families (25 children) have been
supported.
