Year 6 Homework Contract!

Week 4, Term 3, 14

The following is a suggested plan to complete your homework this week. You are free to juggle your
homework to fit in with family events and after school commitments. You MUST complete the set pieces of
work by Thursday and bring the pack to school to be marked and your results recorded.

A CHANGE FOR TERM 3!
This term you will need to complete 40 minutes of IXL each week. If you plan well, you can do 10 minutes a
night. This will help your routines, your memory and the effectiveness of the units of work. Your teacher
will guide you each week and you will write the details in your diary. After each practice please record the
time you spent on IXL AND the number of questions attempted and the number you got right.

Monday: Spelling
Rule up a page in your homework book in four equal columns. Copy this weeks list words into column one.
Every day this week you will need to write out your list words in preparation for Fridays spelling test. This
week the test will cover the past three weeks of work in a summary of the skills you practiced.

Tuesday: Maths

Wednesday:
Buy a newspaper this week and find one report AND one article or advertisement on politics. Cut it out and
stick it into your homework book.

Thursday
Complete any homework set by specialist teachers tonight. Learn your spelling words for your test
tomorrow. Catch up on any work that you have outstanding. Check with your teacher about this.

Reading and Times tables!

How is your reading going? How well do you know your timestables? Are you up to date with IXL?
You need to read something EVERY night and record the details of what you have read on In your diary.
And practice your times tables and IXL!!
And remember to do tasks for your Service Learning Challenge!
