WATER PRESSURE

INTRODUCTION:
On surface of ocean, there is 1 atmosphere of pressure which is equal to weight of all
overlying air. Water pressure increases 1 atmosphere of pressure with approximately
every 10 meters (33 feet).
PROBLEM/PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE:
he purpose of this experiment is to !emonstrate how !epth affects water pressure.
HYPOTHESIS:

MATERIALS:
tin can
!rill
container of water with small cup
mas"ing tape
shallow $asin to collect water
paper towels
PROCEDURE:
1. %se !rill to ma"e four holes in tin can. &oles shoul! $e space! equally apart in
vertical line from top to $ottom of can.
'. (over holes with mas"ing tape.
3. )lace the tin can in a shallow $asin.
*. +ill the can with enough water to cover each hole.
,. -emove tape.
