Who Should Join Blackhawk?

It has been quite a while since Chief Blackhawk stood alone in the Mississippi River Sculpture
Park. There are now four other sculptures, representing five people who came to Prairie du
Chien during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Now that it's time to begin Phase Two, the MRSP board wants you to help us decide which
statues should come next. We've chosen nine more figures that stretch across a longer period of
time. When five of these join the five statues already in the park, Phase Two will be complete.

Here's the list, in the order they appear on the Sculpture Park website:
Aunt Mary Anne LaBuche
British Redcoat, War of 1812
Father Jacques Marquette
Father Samuel Mazzuchelli
John Lawler
Louis Joliet
Mastadon Hunter
Mound Builder
Zebulon Pike

The first step is to look at the statues and read all about them by clicking
park statues to get to our website, then clicking on the link to each statue on the righthand side of
the Sculptures page.

Choose three of these nine, with your favorite as number one. Or, if there's another statue you'd
like to see first, let us know.
E-mail your choice or choices to marl@centurytel.net. We'll be looking for your choice by April
17 -- a lot more fun than taxes.
And . . . . Thanks for your help.
