Poetry Unit begins!
Poetry terms will be discussed: similes, metaphors, hyperboles, personification,
onomatopoeia, alliterations, figurative language, stanza, rhyme, rhyme scheme,
repetition
Types of poems addressed: free verse, limerick, lyrical, haiku, concrete, narrative
Students will be writing these types of poems during the unit




Continuing geometry concepts including polygons, triangles, quadrilaterals, solids,
and net representations of solids.






How the Earths rotation on its axis once every 24hours causes day/night and the
apparent movement of the sun across the sky.

Dont forget: Science Fair projects due on January 29
th
