2 Structure of Thesis
The work presented in this thesis is organized in five main chapters. These five chapters
are structured as follows.
Chapter 1 is entitled Induction Motor Model Generalities. It introduces a mathematical
model of cage rotor induction motors. ifferent wa!s of implementing these models are
presented. The elements of space phasor notation are also introduced and used to develop
a compact notation.
Chapter " is entitled T#$%%&'#()% *$IG% I+,%$T%$) - )'(C% ,%CT.$
'/M. It introduces the operation of three&phase full 0ridge inverter1 its different
waveforms and its space vector.
Chapter 2 is entitled I$%C T.$34% (+ 5647 C.+T$.6 8TC9. Chapter
e:plain the 0asic principle and control strategies of TC and shows that how this is
ph!sicall! implemented.
Chapter ; is entitled )IM46(TI.+ .5 TC I+4CTI.+ M.T.$ $I,%. This
chapter shows how the model is simulated in M(T6(*<)imulink and shows the
simulated result for a specified model.
Chapter = is entitled C.+C64)I.+ all the achievements are summarized and
appropriate conclusion are drawn.
