Draw / Arts Draw a diagram, map, or picture of a scene from the book. Include labels, a legend, or a caption in your drawing. Writing / Persuade Write a letter to convince one of the characters in the book to accept another point of view or convince them to do something differently. Photographs Find photographs from newspapers or magazines and use them to tell a story about what is happening in your book. You can also add your own drawings to help. Writing / Dramatize Create a short play / scene / drama skit to show something that has happened in your book. Write out the skit and be ready to perform it. Time-Line / History Create a time-line or a number line showing a sequence of events from your book. It could be the major events or it could be one main event broken down into parts (i.e., aptitude test). Writing / Procedure Write a procedure for something from the book (i.e., jumping onto a moving train) Use step by step instructions and include diagrams to help the reader understand your instructions. Create / Games Create an original board game using facts and ideas from the book. It could be a dice game, trivia game, etc. Include game pieces, a playing board, and step by step instructions. Memorize / Drama Memorize and recite an important quote from the book; OR you could create your own quote for the book i.e., Something you wanted a character to say but they never actually did. You will be expected to recite the quote from memory. Survey / Data Management Create a survey from a topic in the book. Give it to your fellow classmates and once they have completed it tally up the information and present it in either a bar, line or circle graph. Complete any three questions / activities to create a row vertically, diagonally or horizontally. Remember to complete each assignment to the best of your ability to receive the best possible grade.
