CDMA employs spread-spectrum (SS) technology and a each transmitter is assigned a

pseudo noise(PN) sequence.
- SS spreads the bandidth o! the data uni!ormly !or the same transmitted poer.
- Capacity - "it energy to noise density ratio is assumed to characteri#ed the bit error
per!ormance requirement !or digital $oice transmission.
- Sectori#ation re!ers to using directional antennas at the cell site both !or recei$ing and
transmitting thereby reducing inter!erence beteen co-channel cells.
