Homework...
Most homework is due on Fridays. There are a few
times when the homework will be due the following day.
Those assignments will be written in the agenda and
posted on my blog.
Homework will be written in the agenda on Mondays.
Some homework will be on the computer. Students
need a written note from their parents if they do not
have access to a computer at home. They will be
allowed non-instructional time to complete it at school.
Step by step directions will be posted on my website as
the work is assigned.
Classroom Community...
Our classroom is a community. As with any
community, we need rules to help us get along with
each other.

We have decided that we only need one rule.
Be respectful to others,
yourself, and property.
Behavior Chart...
Personalized clothespins are clipped to the left and right
edges of the level of the chart.
During the course of the day, the clothespins move up
and down the chart based upon the behavioral choices
each student makes.
Good behavior causes the clothespin to move up one
level. Conversely, inappropriate behavior will cause the
clothespin to move down one level.

Good Cents Program...
Your child will be earning plastic money in my classroom.
Were calling our money Good Cents. Children earn nickels,
dimes, and quarters by showing respect for others, following
directions, completing assignments, returning homework, and
other positive behaviors. Each week the students will be given
the opportunity to count and trade their change in for dollars.
Each month students will be able to shop in our classroom
store.

One of the most important things about our Good Cents
program is the educational value it possesses. We are covering
math AKS of counting money, as well as addition and
subtraction. We are also covering social studies economics
AKS.
