Cheat Rendang Recipe:

1/2 pounds of stewed beef


2 tbs of curry powder
A pinch of ginger
5 cloves of garlic
Half a red onion
A pinch of belacan
2 tbs of sambal oelek
1 tsp of brown sugar
1/2 tsp of salt
1 tsp of tamarding juice
1 stalk of lemon juice
1 1/2 cups of dried grated coconut
1/2 tbs of olive oil
Some water
Some soy milk
Mix the beef with curry powder, ginger, belacan, sambal oelek, brown sugar, salt
, tamarind juice, with water and set aside. Spread out the grated coconut on a c
ookie sheet and bake it in the oven until golden brown. Remove from oven and set
aside. Then saute garlic and onion in oil until onions are soft, then throw in
the beef mix, soy milk (until beef is covered), throw in lemongrass stalk. Let i
t simmer and stir occasionally. Cook until not much liquid is left. Finally, thr
ow in the golden brown coconut.
