This document summarizes the modeling and simulation of a crankshaft-piston mechanism in CATIA V5R19. The goals of the project are to:
1) Create 2D models of individual parts like the piston, connecting rod, and crankshaft using basic Sketcher and Part Design tools.
2) Assemble the engine parts and apply constraints between them.
3) Simulate the assembly motion using the Digital Mockup Kinematics Simulator.
The student learned how to model parts, create assemblies with constraints, and simulate motion in CATIA. This provided valuable experience for their engineering thesis defense.
