beginning of a new school year! I am looking forward to getting to know each individual child and working with them to make this a successful year of education! As we begin the school year, I want to give you an idea how how I teach within my classroom. My instruction is very inquiry based! This means that my students will take part in many investigative, hands-on activities. When your child comes home, expect them to be exhausted as they will be in charge of their learning each day!

Announcements This section of the newsletter will be used each week to update you on upcoming events and to keep you informed of our current curriculum.
Reading We will be setting up our routines that will remain in place for the remainder of the year. We will specifically be focusing on selecting books that are interesting and at our levels. We will also be learning and practicing how to read independently for an extended period of time!
Writing This week we will be doing a writing project about our summer. We will also review nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives by creating an All About Me Dictionary.
Math This week we will be reviewing concepts taught in third grade. Each day, your child will work with a partner to move through math centers focusing on multiplication using arrays and equations, word problems, perimeter, fractions, and more!
Science This week we will take part in an activity that involves spaghetti noodles, a marshmallow, and a few inches of tape. It will definitely get your childs brain working! Ask them about it on Thursday!
