Responsible Use of Technology

Student Contract

The Purpose of this Policy is to protect the students of Mrs. Johnsons class at Mountainburg
Public Schools from illegal or damaging actions by individuals, either knowingly or unknowingly.
Inappropriate use of technology exposes Mountainburg Public Schools to risks including the
safety of its students, virus attacks, compromise of network systems and services, and legal
issues. This policy applies to ALL equipment used on school premises, regardless of ownership.
I understand that when I am using the Internet or any technology device, I must adhere to all
rules of courtesy, etiquette and laws regarding the copying of information as prescribed by
either federal, state or local laws, Mountainburg Public Schools, including, but not limited to:

To use only websites or applications authorized and approved by Mrs. Johnson or
Mountainburg Public Schools staff
Not to use any computer or device without faculty approval and supervision
Not to access inappropriate or objectionable material on the Internet
Not to use inappropriate language
Not to use copyrighted material
Not to damage, misuse or mishandle technology
Not to move, repair, reconfigure, or modify systems and equipment
Not to attempt to circumvent security or gain access to secured resources
Not to remove, delete or destroy files
Not to engage in Instant Messaging, text messaging, chat rooms or access email accounts,
Facebook accounts, or Twitter accounts



My signature below means that I agree to follow the guidelines of this Responsible Use of
Technology Policy for Mrs. Johnsons class. I also understand that any violation of these rules
may result in loss of technology privileges or disciplinary and/or legal action, as determined by
Mrs. Johnson and school administration.
