North Texashas been and continues to be one of the fastest growing regions in the nation. leading to a
greater demand on the transportation system. Traditional transportation funding, however. has
remained mostly unchanged for many years ascosts and demand increase.
Pricedfacilities such astoll roads. public-private partnerships and newTEXpressLanes help expand
transportation options when traditional funding falls short of meeting transportation needs. Investing
tolls in the transportation systemimproves safety, reduces congestion. enhances quality of life. spurs
economic development and benefits the region.
TEXpressLanes and the proposed transition of HOV lanes to Expresslanes are two types of facilities
that help address transportation demand. air quality concerns and expand mobility options. At the
community workshops. transportation partners will review development of these plans, outline how to
usethe facilities and discuss next steps for transportation in the region.
Following each workshop, a video recording wilt be online at www.nctcog.org/videQ.
