Interactive Family Assignment for the Week:
Students will have nightly assignments in the coming weeks, but for the first week of school
I want parents to have an opportunity to work hand in hand in completing this weeks
assignment with your child.

To start the school year, our topic is All About Me. We read Me and My
Family Tree by Joan Sweeny. Each family is unique and special in its own
way, and this week I want you to create a family tree with your parents.
Come up with a creative and colorful way to display all the special people in
your family. Ask questions and talk to your parents about your wonderful
family. You will have all week to work on this assignment. On Friday you will
bring in your completed Family Tree and present it to your classmates; telling
them all about the people in your family that makes it unique and special!
***Examples of Important Words you can use:***
grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, step-mom, step-dad, brother, sister, step-brother,
step-sister, aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew, pet, etc.
Reading: Read for 20 minutes.
FRIDAY

***Remember to always return your Take Home Books on Friday mornings so you will
receive a new set of books for next week. If books are not returned, in the original bag they
were given from a previous week, students will NOT receive a new set until the books and
bag have been returned. ***

Asignacin de familia interactivo para la semana:
Los estudiantes tendrn asignaciones cada noche en las prximas semanas, pero para la
primera semana de escuela quiero que los padres tienen la oportunidad de trabajar mano a
mano en completar la asignacin de esta semana con su hijo.
Para iniciar el ao escolar, nuestro tema es "todo sobre m". Leemos Me
and My Family Tree por Joan Sweeny. Cada familia es nica y especial a su
manera, y esta semana quiero crear un rbol genealgico con tus padres.
Usando el papel previsto, idear una manera creativa y colorida para mostrar
todas las personas en su familia. Preguntas y hablar con sus padres sobre
su familia maravillosa. Usted tendr toda la semana para trabajar en esta
asignacin. El viernes se traiga en su terminado tu rbol genealgico y
presentarlo a sus compaeros de clase; decirles todo sobre las personas en
su familia que lo hace nico y especial!

abuela, abuelo, mam, pap, mam de paso, paso-pap, hermano, hermana,

***Recuerde siempre devolver los libros tomar casa en viernes por la maana por lo que
recibir una nueva serie de libros para la prxima semana. Si no se devuelven libros, en la
bolsa original que les dieron desde la semana anterior, los estudiantes podrn no recibe un
nuevo conjunto hasta los libros y la bolsa han sido devueltos. ***
