Talking with your family can be one of the hardest things to do when
you are diagnosed with cancer. Children can be affected when a
parent has a cancer diagnosis. They may experience:
anxiety
poor school performance
behavioral changes.

Starting the conversation reassures them it is okay to
ask questions and encourages them to talk to you when
they are sad and worried.
This type of communication will help your children
know their feelings are part of a normal process of
coping with cancer.
Your children will meet other families going through
the same journey.
Our programs are free and open to the public, no
matter where the patient is being treated for cancer.
