Introduction
Sit on mat and explain what is to happen

Discuss with the class: the lesson rules and what is expected of them
Explain that if they finish the first part, that they can do the extra activity
Remind that sentences need to start with a capital letter and end with a
full stop ask them the questions.
Encourage neat, careful writing so that it can be easily read and they will
be proud to share it.

Main Body
Look, say, cover, write, check
Students will follow this with their word sheets

Once finished, they will take their favourite words and put them into
separate sentences. Students can do this with 3-5 sentences, maybe
more if they have time.
This way there is a minimum to achieve and some students will be happy
to do the minimum, other students may want to do more or be more
capable.
If there is still time and some students finish their sentences, they can
then do the extra activity and circle smaller words in the bigger words.
Explain that some words might not have any smaller words inside but
work with them to discover what words they might be able to make with
the letters of the word.
