What is a Fable

By Jordan Fernando - August 28 2014

A fable is a short story which usually
contains anthropomorphic creatures
(anthropomorphic creatures are creatures
with human traits along with animal traits)
For example a rabbit that can talk and walks
with its hind legs but still eats carrots and
occasionally hops. Most English fables
contain a moral like do not judge a book by
its cover.

Who are the authors of fables

There are many authors who write but the
most famous of them all is a man called
SOP. He has written The Hare and the
Tortoise, The Horse, the Hunter and the Stag
and many more. Have you heard of SOP?
If so have you read any of his fables? But
there many other authors who deserve a
honourable mention such as John Gay.

This is an example:
Fables

Once there was a homeless frog, he was
ugly and dirty but had a kind heart and had
no money whatsoever. One gloomy day on
the streets, a rich duck walked by. He cast a
glare at the frog and gave him a look in
disgust. "Donate money to the the poor my
man" the frog said in a sick, croaky voice." I
ain't gonna donate to you in a million
years, sick frog!" And the duck greedily
walked away. As the duck was waddling
home he tripped over a fallen branch and
sprained his ankle. As duck the cried out in
agony the frog came to his aid, taking him
to the vet. " Why are you helping me?"
asked the curious duck. " I may be a

homeless frog but I'm actually a really nice
and kind animal." After what the duck
experienced, he donated most of his money
to all the charities he could nd also giving
a fair share of what was left over to the
frog. He learned never to judge a book by
its cover.

I hope you enjoyed that! What did you
learn from this presentation ? Did you know
SOP before this presentation ? Have you
noticed how many anthropomorphic
creatures there are like this.
