Dear P3 Parents,
Currently I am studying a Post Graduate Diploma in E Learning and Technology through Massey
University, in New Zealand. My main focus is staying up to date with educational technology and
learning the best ways in which I can inject technology into the classes I am teaching. The course is
very practical and encourages me to use what I have learnt within my daily teaching.
Currently I am carrying out an assignment that requires me to work with and reflect on the use of
tablets within the classroom. My main focus will be on using Android apps in our mathematics
lessons. All children who are learning in P3S mathematics will have the opportunity to practise skills
with the tablets. The activities I have chosen as a supplement to what they are already doing within
the maths programme. Basically instead of doing a worksheet to practise their multiplication or
division work, they will be using programmes that will get progressively more challenging as their
skills improve.
For this investigation I would like to record interviews and survey some children in the class. The
results from the investigation will be available on a Weebly site that allows me to control who will
view it. I will make the site available to parents from P3S, teachers at Markham and the lecturer and
students who are also studying my paper.
