The Legend of Mayon Volcano

Magayon was the most beautiful maiden in the kingdom of Albay. She fell in love with
Gat Malayo, a prince from the Tagalog Kingdom in Tayabas and the two decided to marry.
Datu Buhawen wanted Magayon for himself. He threatened Magayon who consented to
a forced marriage. On the day of the wedding, Gat Malayon arrived and a fierce battle began.
Datu Buhawen was killed but Gat Malayo was also fatally stabbed to death.
