Dear friends
Welcome to the 2014 Heraklion Summer Festival, an inclusive
cultural institution attended by large audiences every summer.
This years programme comprises 190 events in the open air theatres
and piazze basse in the Venetian Walls, and 55 film showings in the
Bethlehem Gate Municipal Open-air Cinema, and is dedicated to the
400-year anniversary of the death of Domenicos Theotocopoulos
(El Greco).
Theatre takes pride of place in our festival, though quality music and
dance events also feature. At the same time we host and promote a
large number of local artists, rendering the festival a forum for their
creative expression.
May we wish you a pleasant Cultural Summer, and thank you for
attending and offering social support at our events.
