ABSTRACT
People spend more than 80% of the time staying indoors every day, since the indoor environment
influence both peoples health and working efficiency, how to build a satisfying living and
working environment has becomes an important issue nowadays.
Among the four seasons we have, summer is too hot and winter is too cold, spring is the one that
we enjoy warmth, fresh air and beautiful sunshine. However, spring is always short; we cannot
keep the spring outdoors, but there is something we can do to keep it indoors forever, that is
HVAC. HVAC, short for heating, ventilating and air conditioning, is a discipline of mechanical
engineering, which focuses on building an artificial spring in our indoor environment.
In this science forum presentation, what is HVAC will be explained. In particular, the definition
and objective of HVAC will be introduced. Its main facility, air conditioning system and its basic
