What are the relationships between an IP multimedia private identity (IMPI) and an IMS public user

identity (IMPU)?

An IMS standard subscriber is assigned one IMPI and two IMPUs in which IMPU 1 is SIP URI and
IPMU 2 is tel URI. The two IMPUs belong to the same implicit registration set and the same alias
group, and share repository data.
An IMPI is a subscriber identity defined by the carrier of the home network and is unique across the
world. An IMPI is used to for IMS network registration, authentication, authorization, and charging
but is not used for call addressing or routing.
An IMPU is used to request communication with another subscriber and can be made public. An
IMPU is used for routing of SIP messages.
