A Note to Driftless Area Art Festival visitors

Thanks for stopping at the Mississippi River Sculpture Park booth and signing up for our
newsletter. In addition to information about our upcoming river cruise, you'll be receiving a
second e-mail with news about this summer's dedication of the latest statue in the Sculpture Park,
Emma Big Bear. That newsletter, like all of our editions, will also contain an article about a
hidden treasure, a spot in or near Prairie du Chien that might be news to you.
Board members who staffed the booth especially enjoyed meeting folks who had childhood
memories of Emma.

Cruise News


The leaves are already turning. By the beginning of
October, the bluffs along the Mississippi River may be ablaze
with color, and fall bird migrations may be starting. Pelicans.
Eagles. Buzzards.
Join us for an afternoon cruise on Sunday, October 2,
a fund-raiser for the Mississippi River Sculpture Park and a
fun-raiser too. It's a rain-or-shine opportunity, since the
Mississippi Explorer boat is warm and dry in any weather.
Look for the company's sign at the rock wall in Lawler Park on St. Feriole Island in
Prairie du Chien. Arrive around 4 p.m. to meet and greet other friends of the Sculpture Park. The
boat will sail at 4:30.
Bring your beverage of choice. We'll provide the snacks. And don't forget your
binoculars.
Tickets are $25 each, and will be available at the boat landing prior to boarding. To
