This study examined the effects of the plant Curcuma xanthorhiza Roxb on gastric damage induced by aspirin in male rats. Rats were divided into groups receiving various treatments for 14 days: a control group, a group receiving only aspirin, and groups receiving both aspirin and different doses of C. xanthorhiza decoction. After treatment, gastric tissue samples were analyzed. The results showed that the group receiving the highest dose of C. xanthorhiza decoction (1.5 g/kg body weight) had the lowest level of gastric mucosal cell damage compared to the other groups. This suggests that C. xanthorhiza has a protective effect against aspirin

THE EFFECT OF TEMULAWAK (Curcuma xanthorhiza Roxb) IN
GASTRIC HISTOPATHOLOGY VIEW OF MALE WHITE RAT (Rattus norvegicus) Sprague dawley STRAIN INDUCED BY ASPIRIN By GINA SONIA BINTARI Aspirin induces gastric mucosal cell damage from acute gastritis to gastric ulcers. Curcuma xanthorhiza Roxb has an antioxidant effect which can prevent gastric mucosal cell damage caused by the longterm using of aspirin. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of Curcuma xanthorhiza Roxb in preventing gastric mucosal cell damage of male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) strain Sprague dawley induced by aspirin. In this study, ! male Sprague dawley rats were divided randomly into ! groups and were given treatment for "# days. $roup " (normal control, only received standard feed and a%uadest), group (positive control, received &' mg aspirin), group ( (dosage ", received &' mg aspirin and ",( g)*g bodyweight Curcuma xanthorhiza Roxb decoction), group # (dosage , received &' mg aspirin and ,+ g)*g bodyweight Curcuma xanthorhiza Roxb decoction), group !
