PERSKINDOL SWISS EPIC 2014 in brief


Brief outline PERSKINDOL SWISS EPIC is Switzerlands first six-day mountain bike stage
race for two-person teams.
Date Debut of the new race: 15-20 September 2014
Stages Verbier Leukerbad Grchen Zermatt
Race course Prologue followed by five stages, with a strong focus on flowing single
trails. A new route will be provided each year.
SWISS EPIC: Approx. 400 km and 15,000 metres elevation.
SWISS EPIC FLOW: Downhill-focused race of approx. 300 km and 8,000
metres elevation, with shuttle services for the more challenging ascents.
Participants Starting positions are limited to 300 two-person teams (total of 600
participants). Participants must be professional or amateur mountain bike
racers over 18 years of age. PERSKINDOL SWISS EPIC 2014 is now sold out.
Categories SWISS EPIC: Women (2 female), Men (2 male), Mixed (1 female, 1 male),
Master (both members 40+ years).
SWISS EPIC FLOW: Women (2 female), Men (2 male), Mixed (1 female, 1
male).
CORPORATE: A group of 3 two-person teams, 2 racing on the SWISS EPIC
course, 1 racing on the SWISS EPIC FLOW course. Ranking shown in overall
list. Charity contribution for Team Rwanda Cycling is included.
Prize money CHF 35,000 in total plus non-cash prizes worth CHF 15,000 in total.

Dany Gehrig, co-founder of SWISS EPIC AG; CEO of Globetrotter Travel
Service AG; ten years experience as project leader and president of the
Swiss Olympic Gigathlon, Switzerlands largest multi-sports event.
Thomas Frischknecht (aka Frischi), initiator and co-founder of SWISS EPIC
AG. 20-year career as a professional mountain biker: silver medal at 1996
Olympic Games; triple world champion; triple overall champion of World
Cup; winner in 18 World Cup races; 15 medals won in world championship
races; currently director of SCOTT-Odlo MTB Racing Team.
