Describe an Evaluation Process

The Importance of Pulling Effective Practices from the Literature and Vetted Lists.
- I think it is important to look at literatures and vetted list before pulling effective
practices. As professor points out that there is a trend among academics and
journalists because of excess and careless application of brain research result to
education. The practices must be true and tried one. For example, we know that
project-based learning produces better result than conventional teaching.
The measurement that I would recommend to evaluate process:
Material retention : whether students retain what they learn
Practice and the integration of knowledge: Whether students do practice and
successfully integrate the knowledge.
Depth of Understanding: whether students increase their depth of
understanding of the lessons/lectures.
I would recommend Cognitive Behavior Therapy to evaluate students that consists of three
stages:
Goal Setting
Tracking
Feedback and Reinforcement
- Professor Johnson could use Cognitive Behavior Therapy to measure his students
progress. He must set a clear, feasible goal and keep tracking it and finally provide
feedback and reinforcement. The process must repeat over again and again.
