Weekly Newsletter of September13th
Reading This week we are taking our unit 1 test from our Reading
Wonders. The skills and strategies covered include: synonyms, context
clues, multi-meaning words, sequencing, cause and effect, metaphors, and
main idea and key details. **Worksheets are available on my website for
extra practice. The website is mksmith123.weebly.com
Math- This week we learned mental math for addition and subtraction. We
also hit on bar models. With more practice in class, our bar modeling will
come naturally.
Writing We wrote about why parks are important. The students wrote to
inform their readers.

passed out on Mondays and are
due back on Fridays.

Other Classroom News
Our Swap Meet for demonstrating good character is scheduled
for October 11
th
. Please send in any goodies you would like to
donate for this event. It is an amazing event that emphasizes
how good character pays.
Data Folders will be going home very soon. Please keep an eye out
for our test scores, future AR points and our goals/strategies to
improve!
