Tittle: Joanas moon

Author: Maria Teresa Maia Gonzalez
Type: Drama

Summary of the story:
The Joanas Moon, tells the story of Joana, a teenager whose best friend was
Martha who died due to drug use. Missing her friend, Joana decides then start writing
letters to Martha, her friend now deceased, in which reports her daily life, her joys and
sorrows, as if it were a diary .
Joana lived with his mother, who spent her life in the shop where she works
with her father and with her brother, who she treated as prehistoric due to clothing
and habits, and barely spoke to him! She always felt misunderstood not only by his
family but also by her group of friends.
Martha, the deceased friend of Joana, had a brother named Diogo, for whom it
was very difficult and took a long time to overcome the death of his sister. Joana was
also Diogos friend and ends up falling in love for him. Joana always tried to help him
but at some point she discovered that Diogo, like his sister, was also caught with drugs.
Felt abandoned and misunderstood, and the curiosity trying to know what Martha had
felt, Joana also wanted to experience drugs. However, almost without realizing, Joana
eventually enters into the world of drugs. Diogo can treat himself and decides to live
with his father, who was already divorced from his wife. But Joana, didnt resist the
world of drugs, and eventually dies. The story ends with the father of Joana reading
the reports of his daughter, feeling helpless and frustrated at not being there and
didnt prevent her death.
I really enjoyed reading this book, because it was a very touching story and a
great lesson of life. The end of the story is unexpected and very exciting.
Its a book that I recommend to everyone, especially young people and adults.
The part of this book that I found most moving is when the father of Joana
reads the letters that her daughter had written to her friend, and realizes that it was
not the best person with his children and felt bad for not having been a parent present
and havent prevent the death of his daughter.
