    The Illinois Department of Transportation notified the Riverside Police that construction scheduled to begin on October 6 at the intersection of First and Ridgewood/Forest in Riverside, Illinois will now start on September 22. IDOT will begin moving overhead traffic signals on Monday and lane closures will ramp up on Tuesday morning as Alliance Construction, the project manager, begins work. Alliance has promised to work with the police and schools to allow children and pedestrians to safely pass through construction areas, though walkway patterns and crosswalks may close at various times during construction.

    Construction Resuming At First and Ridgewood/Forest

    Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) notified Riverside Police that
    the scheduled construction to begin on October 6 has been pushed up and
    will start this coming Monday September 22.
    IDOT will begin to move the overhead traffic signals and early Tuesday
    morning construction will ramp up with lane closures.
    Alliance Construction, managing the project, has promised to work with the
    Police Department and schools to allow children and other pedestrians a
    safe walk through construction areas.
    Be prepared for walkway pattern changes as crosswalks may close at
    various times throughout construction.
