Dear Mrs. Weist,
I have wanted to be an elementary school teacher since I was a little girl. I
enjoy helping other and figured the best way to help children is to further their
education and teach them life lessons along the way. I took cadet teaching in high
school and that made my choice of becoming an teacher clear. I am from Fishers,
Indiana and I am also involved in the cheer team at Purdue as well as a sorority.
Being an elementary education major at Purdue all my courses are geared towards
teaching to help me become the best teacher I can be.
As I come into your classroom I am eager to see your teaching styles with
lessons. I want to learn how to incorporate the proper exercises with the right
lessons. I feel that discipline will be something I struggle with so I would really like
to see how you discipline your students. Knowing that students all learn at different
speeds I would like to see how you deal with those students and how or if you are
able to work one on one with them. I cannot wait to work with a small group or
students, grading, or prepare smaller lessons in your classroom for you.
I understand that being a teacher is a professional job and that there are
responsibilities that come with that. For example I will also show up on time and
dress and act in a proper manner. I will abide by the school rules of conduct or
expectations you have for me. I am excited to work with your students and get to
know you as a teacher! Thank you for opening up your classroom for me to come in
and observe, it will help me with my future teaching skills.

Sincerely,
