HOMEWORK

MARKING CRITERIA
For each question in a homework there will be 1 to max 4 points allocated.

Homework is to be placed in the morning in the designated bin;

It will be collected before 8.10 am

A missed homework has to be completed in the same day during the students own recess time.
It is the student responsibility to look for the teacher and hand in his missing
homework/assignment.

A missing homework, never completed when is due, will receive zero points.

If a homework is missed due to an absence it will be due the first day when the student has
that class. He/she has to complete it under parental/teacher supervision.

1-point -> it appears the student read the question but could not go further; a poor attempt was made;
2-points -> it appears the student made a reasonable attempt;
3-points -> the student provided partially correct solution;
4-points -> the student provided correct solution.
***An extra point will be provided for excellent work and cumulated points will be added to certain
mark categories for that particular student.

SPECIAL POLICY ON RECOVERING POINTS
Teachers policy for recovering lost points on homework/tests.
Students with missing homework cannot recover points on their tests.

a) Students should compare their graded homework/test with homework/test solutions provided by the
teacher. Note: that homework/test was graded without any comments by the teacher.
b) Students should reflect on what they did or thought wrong in their original solution. They should
write an explanation on what was wrong in their original answer and why it was wrong. Without this
step students are not allowed to recover lost points.
c) Students should write down new solutions. They can recover points only if they provide correct new
solutions that is not a copy-paste of the solution provided by the teacher.
