Lambda Chapter's meeting was held in Eunice at Mary Jean Reese's home. Three delicious salads and tea were prepared by Mary Jean and enjoyed by attendees.
After the meal, President Anne Chaffin called the meeting to order. Minutes of April 7, 2014, were approved as printed and will be filed.
Mary Jean Reese, Treasurer, presented her report. We have $2,987.02 to be used for International and State dues, Scholarship, and Chapter supplies. The treasurer's report was approved and filed. LaVerne Chaffin audited the treasurer's books. Lambda approved the audit and also our new budget for this year.
New Business: We will spread cheer by making a Thanksgiving basket for a person of interest in Lea County. Our November meeting will be at Ranchers Steakhouse in Hobbs, where we will have the person as our guest, and present the basket to her. Members will furnish nonperishable foods. Mary Jean will bring meat bought with money from our account.
New yearbook pages were distributed to be put into our notebooks.
On September 13 we will meet at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church to finalize plans for the October 18 Early Childhood Teachers' Meeting. Twenty new teachers are expected to attend.
Alpha Lambda Chapter in Hobbs will assist with several pods set up for the teachers to examine. Donuts and coffee, napkins, plates, and cups will be furnished by Lambda.
Amazonsmile.com is a network address where teachers can get a percentage off what they purchase. Money spent will go to charities.
