Chimaera Rocket Team, USU, 2010-2011
First place Undergraduate rocket team that competed in the NASA Undergraduate Student Launch
Initiative (USLI) competition; objective was to design, build, and launch a rocket carrying a
scientific payload to an altitude of one mile above ground level
Conducted environmental testing on several rocket components to verify they met design
requirements, including static motor testing
Designed and built a remote motor ignition system to safely ignite rocket motors.
Designed and analyzed an aerospike nozzle--a more efficient propulsion system
