Strategy Name Strategy #_4__

Compare/Contrast

Brief Description (in your own words):
This a graphic organizer that helps students analyze information in different texts. Its used to
gather data, organize, and categorize information. Its a way to help students make
comparisons between and put things in order in a way thats memorable to them.

How you plan to use this strategy in your Practicum, Internship, Student Teaching, or in your
classroom:
I would use this strategy in my internship when transitioning from sport to sport with similar
rules. The categories sports are classified as are net and ball, invasion games, striking/fielding,
and target. When going from soccer to football for example students can compare the
similarities and differences between each sport to develop understanding. A student may know
more about soccer than football but after using a compare and contrast organizer they may
find out they actually know more about football than they previously thought.
