SUBJECT: TASK FORCE ARREST LUCASVILLE MAN ON DRUG AND
WEAPON CHARGES DURING RAID
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware
announce that on Friday, September 19, 2014 at approximately 3:30p.m., the Southern
Ohio Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the apartment of 33 year old
Jason A. Craft located at 15256 State Route 104 in Lucasville, Ohio. Upon a search of
the apartment, officers seized approximately 44 grams of suspected black tar heroin,
approximately 16 grams of suspected cocaine, three handguns, digital scales, and
additional evidence of drug trafficking. The suspected illegal drugs found have an
estimated street value of $7,500.
Craft was arrested and charged with Trafficking and Possession of Heroin, both
felonies of the 2
nd
degree, Possession of Cocaine, a felony of the 3
rd
degree, and
Having a Weapon while under Disability, a felony of the 3
rd
degree. Craft also had an
outstanding warrant for his arrest that had been issued by the Portsmouth Municipal
Court for violating court ordered probation.
Craft was placed in the Scioto County Jail, is being held without bail, and is to be
arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 9:00a.m.
The case is continuing to be investigated and will eventually be forwarded to the
Scioto County Prosecutors Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for
the consideration of additional felony criminal charges.
