Alvarez Comments on Support for Climate Action Plan Resolution
SAN DIEGO (September 22, 2014) Regarding the City Councils support for Councilmember Alvarezs resolution for the City to develop and adopt a Climate Action Plan, which outlines strategies to meet greenhouse gas reduction goals, Alvarez made the following statement:
I proposed this Council resolution because it is imperative that we, as a City, move forward together to address climate change. Weve reached a tipping point on how climate change is altering our environment, but weve also reached a tipping point where the public demands action. The time for denial is over. This City Council stands strong in making San Diego a leader in actively addressing this issue now and into the future.

Alvarez is the Councilmember for the Eighth Council District of the City of San Diego, which includes the northern communities of Barrio Logan, Grant Hill, Logan Heights, Memorial, Sherman Heights, Stockton and the southern communities of San Ysidro, Otay Mesa East and West, Ocean View Hills, Nestor, Egger Highlands and the Tijuana River Valley.
